About me
SUBODH RAMUGADE
Vice President, AI in Healthcare
Over 20 years of global leadership experience building enterprise technology across healthcare AI, fintech, payments, and investment banking. A career defined by one consistent principle: translating strategic vision into scalable, production-grade solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Currently serving as Vice President at CloudXLab, leading AI teams in partnership with McKesson to advance cancer research through production NLP and machine learning platforms. The mission involves converting hundreds of thousands of unstructured oncology documents into structured clinical data at scale. The technical approach combines neural network classifiers, advanced NLP with PubMedBERT embeddings, and large language models with Chain of Thought prompting, achieving clinical-grade accuracy with F1 scores exceeding 85% while reducing processing costs by over 70%. This represents the intersection of technical innovation and meaningful impact: AI that advances how we understand and treat cancer.
Prior to healthcare, founded and led Vedang.AI, a fintech venture focused on democratizing sophisticated financial intelligence. Built the platform end-to-end: predictive analytics and reinforcement learning models for portfolio optimization and asset allocation using PyTorch and TensorFlow, NLP pipelines for extracting insights from complex financial documents, automated data infrastructure for real-time risk calculation, and a production-ready application with FastAPI services and React/TypeScript visualization. The startup experience reinforced a core belief: the most effective technology leaders remain architecturally hands-on while scaling strategy and teams.
At Amazon, led engineering organizations responsible for digital payment platforms serving over 30 businesses globally, including regional payment integration processing 23% of Brazil's transaction volume. Simultaneously drove marketing and advertising technology initiatives, including loyalty program transformation and influencer platform development, contributing to more than $500 million in incremental revenue. Amazon provided the playbook for operating at scale: high-volume distributed systems, cross-functional alignment, and the discipline required to deliver products that millions depend on.
The foundation was established across nearly a decade in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase, and Merrill Lynch. Rising to Vice President at Morgan Stanley's Private Wealth Management division involved leading teams that built real-time trading systems, enterprise risk platforms, and client suitability workflows across multiple asset classes. Financial services instilled the rigor of building systems that are not only performant but compliant, auditable, and trustworthy.
Leadership philosophy centers on building high-performing teams that combine engineering excellence with strategic thinking. Staying close to the technical work while empowering teams to own outcomes. The focus remains constant: transforming complex technical capabilities into sustainable business value.
